Constance Roberts, soprano, is a Professor of Music at William Carey University where she teaches voice, opera workshop, vocal pedagogy and voice-related courses. A native of Louisiana, she earned Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from L.S.U. and holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she appeared as a soloist with the Chorale, the U.S.M. Symphony, and Southern Opera.

Dr. Roberts has won vocal competitions at the state and regional levels, including Mississippi's Artist Award in singing and the Federated Music Clubs Young Artist. She has been a featured soloist with New Stage Theatre, Millsaps Singers, Millsaps Opera Workshop, Jackson Choral Society (in the USA and Europe), Mississippi Opera, Memphis Symphony Chorus, and the Hattiesburg Civic Chorus and Concert Association. Dr. Roberts has appeared across the region as a recitalist and oratorio soloist. Her students have won state and regional vocal competitions with Federated Music Clubs, N.AT.S. and Mississippi Music Teachers. She is a sought-after choral and solo adjudicator in the southeast.

An active choral and musical director, she has conducted the LSU A Cappella Choir, Hattiesburg Civic Light Opera, Hattiesburg Civic Chorus, William Carey University Chorale, William Carey Opera and Music Theatre, Carey Dinner Theatre, and Southern Opera and Musical Theatre. Dr. Roberts has just completed two terms as Southern Region Governor of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She serves on NATS national board committees. She is a former Mississippi Music Teachers Association Voice Area Coordinator. She traveled to Paris in July, 2009 to serve on the staff of the International Conference of Voice Teachers. Dr. Roberts has served as music director at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg for twenty years.
